Israel needs Europe for social, economic, political, diplomatic and military reasons. Israel is not an island and cannot survive without relations with other states. Given the hostility of many neighbouring states, Europe is the closest area where Israel has friends. Israel has recently suffered setbacks in diplomatic relations with Russia and Turkey, do not add the EU to the list, Israel needs all the friends it can get!
