According to reports in another Israeli newspaper, the UN sources for this story are not necessarily accurate. According to the Magen David Adom medic who evacuated the Palestinians to an Israeli hospital, the truck came under Hamas sniper fire. This medic claimed as well that it was IDF soldiers who rescued them from their truck, not the Palestinian Red Crescent.
It is certain that one man is dead, but the other two are being treated at Barzilai Hospital for gunshot wounds to the chest. I don`t think that you get gun shot wounds from tank fire.
We`ll see. In the meantime, why not adopt the story that is unfavourable to Israel, without caveat or qualification. If an accurate version comes out that exonerates Isreal, it can be printed on p 48. |
