Hamas is a political organisation with a military wing. Not everyone is a militant, any more than every Irish Catholic was an IRA activist although all Irish catholics supported the IRA. Eventually the Irish sat down and talked peace.
Israel is trying to persuade the world that all Gazans are Hamas militants - small children included it seems, as they are targets.
Of course they are not, but they may well go that way by the time Israel has finished with them.
Eventually Israel will talk to Hamas - probably as part of a Palestinian Unity Government. |
