| This is all hot air. The success of a diplomatic deal will be a function only of the military leverage that underpins it. Israel needs to maintain and increase that leverage by degrading Hamas as much as possible. The coincidence of Mubarak`s self interest and Israel`s is a necessary condition for an agreement that reflects Israel`s strategic goals. Israel`s military clout is the only thing which will turn it into a sufficient condition for one. |
