| the results of the unilateral pullback from Gaza were almost as awful as the results of the unilateral withdrawal from southern Lebanon. These include 30-40 Israelis killed by rockets and mortars from Gaza, and 500 Gazans killed in the current operation. It seems the peacemongers are willing to tolerate a lot more blood and death than they may comprehend. Certainly the present operation, and its costs, were entirely foreseeable three years ago. But perhaps some had blinders on. The Lebanese army was supposed to take over the border when Israel withdrew in 2000. Yeah, right. And the UNIFIL force has done a fine job there. Sure. Wonder why Hamas hasn`t dropped any mortar rounds or rockets on Egypt? |
