| Both Israel and Hamas hold to an extremist position. Neither knows how to negotiate. In Israel, either you are pro-Israel or your are an anitisemite. In Hamas, either you are pro-Hamas or you are an Israeli or Israeli supporter. Each side indulges in terrorism; both call it defense. Until this frame of mind changes on both sides, there will be no peace - jusr war and a return to the status-quo ante, then war, then return to the status quo ante. Neither side respects anything short of force. Peace always means peace OUR way. But that is not peace; that is only victory - for a time. |
