I have to laugh as left wingers tie themselves in moral knots trying to justify positions that lack even a semblance of decency and common sense.
The uber-universalism and moral arrogance of this group deems national solidarity against a declared enemy as "patriotism" - and they can`t have that. They`ve made their beds with terrorists and those who support them, so are unable to find fault with them. Their analyses are backed up not by evidence but by ideology.
And, pray tell, what makes Avishai Margalit "one of the world`s leading political philosophers", beyond the fact that she teaches at the IAS and is a member of Peace Now? She`s as much ideologue and partisan as Mr. Eldar.
The traditionalists, admittedly, have an easier time of it. "If someone comes upon you to kill you," write the sages, "rise up and kill him first." Now *that* is moral clarity. |
