| To Elianah: I agree with your assessment totally. Basically Israel is longing for peace with it`s neighbors. Arafat put it succinctly, the Jew and Arab have been in a 100 year old war. I agree. All the prior cease fires were in the Arabs favor, when Israel had turned the corner. Egypt and Jordan have ice cold treaties, as we know. Their populations are violently anti-Israel and anti-Semitic. Nothing has changed since 1948., nothing, nothing, nothing. Israel`s strength has been eroded, due to the fragmentated society, poor military planning and performance, and inability to say NO to the US Presidents., and I mean NO. 15yrs ago, I wrote my Israeli consulate..and begged them to end Oslo. Camp David was a farce. Israel allowed weapons into the Strip, and didn`t finish off Hez 2 years ago. What in heavens name is it thinking? Now, it`s opening up on a cease fire? Cease fire? Iran will nuke Israel in 2 years..and Israel is positive about a cease fire? What the hell is going on? |
