Firing artillery shells increases the chances of major civilian casualties in Gaza.
Possibly also indicates that the IAF is running out of targets to bomb.
The possibility that a peace deal is being thrashed out behind the scenes to be announced during Sarkozy`s visit next week also tends to indicate that the Israeli government does not want to put boots on the ground as any IDF casualties will be for nothing.
Will be interesting to see if Shalit will be part of the deal. |
