| Hizbullah got what it wanted out of the war consolidating its position in Lebanon. They are much stronger now domestically and politically. All have the same goal destruction of Israel. Lebanon is a separate country, one cannot have a foreign base for a state sponsor inside their own borders as Israel has with the Gaza Strip. If you keep saying that Hizbullah are two afraid to fire rockets they will send a couple over the border, if it is in their interest too. But Iranian goals for Lebanon and their asymmetrical battle plan against Israel would be affected, that is why they have taken more direct control over Hizbullah in Lebanon. To secure Israel against Hizbullah in theory one would have to go to war every 3 to 5 years to destroy the infrastructure, equipment and personnel inside Lebanon. The same situation is happening with Gaza, 2005, now 2008-09, in a few years rockets from Gaza will reach 75km into Israel. |
