"Israel doesn`t want to dismantle those settlements, and refuses to discuss the very idea of any other outcome other than: "those settlements are to be gift-wrapped and handed over to us as a present".
The perpetual lie. With the exception of a few of the overly large settlements, most of the settlements in the West Bank would be torn down and the residents moved. That was in BOTH of the prior peace plans rejected by the Palestinians.
Face it, neither the Israelis nor Palestinians will get everything they want in a peace agreement ... or when they want it to happen. But if there is NO agreement to begin with, then the Palestinians will wind up with nothing. That makes no sense for anyone truly interested in a peaceful resolution. |
