| Not with a bang, but a whimper. Israel is slowly ratcheting down the strikes, and beginning to allow the usual trickle of relief supplies (paid for by others) to enter. For their part, the Palestinians are keeping up a desultory rocket barrage. We`re going back where we were. Except that five hundred people will have died -- and 1.5 million Palestinians have had their minds made up once and for all about Israel. Go ahead. Declare victory. |
