| You are wrong that `peace` between Islam and Israel is impossible. It all depends on the sovereigns and strong men who rule in Islam`s despotic regimes. In Islam the sovereign`s perogatives are extensive. Even backing one enemy (the Jews) against another enemy (the Shia) is permissible. Of course, given Islamic triumphalism and feeling of superiority over Judaism and Christianity the Jews can never consider such a "peace" any more than a temporary non-aggression pact which is only as good as the rule and word of the given sovereign. But during a long reign of such a sovereign peaceful relations between Jews and Muslims can obtain and become stronger. A deal between most Sunni Arabs and Israel at the expense of Shiite Iran may be on the horizon. After the current Gaza operation ends with a greatly weakened Hamas expect a global concensus on this deal to emerge and be implemented. This could be as close to a real peace as Israel will get and no, it will not wipe out Islamic triumphalism |
