Let`s not kid ourselves. The biggest obstacle to peace with the Palestinians is that there is no current and functional Palestinian state in the Territories able to assert control. Solve that problem and maybe the rest can be addressed. Leave the Territories in anarchy, and there is nobody to negotiate with.
There are few good options here, but it seems to me that the core of any strategy, regardless of a military component or lack thereof, is nation-building. Maybe Israel can`t do this by herself, so why not ask friends like Turkey for help? |
