Dear Amira,
I have the utmost respect for your writings. Normally readers can count on you for well-researched, impartial, and objective reporting. However, in this article you have misinformed readers by using "loaded" words to describe the tunnels that connect Egypt to Palestine. Specifically, in the opening sentence you call them "weapons smuggling tunnels." A more accurate description is "supply or commerce tunnels" because the overwhelming majority of goods that pass through them are non-military related.
I point this out because by incorrectly calling them "weapons smuggling tunnels" you increase support for and lessen opposition to Israel`s killing of bystanders including women and children. I know this is not your intent.
Sincerely,
Timothy |
