Fierce and effective initial action followed up by some shoddy truce which never did achieve the stated aims in the first place?
Right now, Hamas is showing that it can fire rockets at will, even under severe fire. Hezbollah showed the same thing. Hezbollah also showed that it could kidnap Israeli soldiers and ransom their bodies for a murderer and not return the soldiers IMMEDIATELY (as was agreed to in the Lebanon truce).
Will this be another case of initial bravado followed by weak-kneed negotiations attempting to show the world that Israel is flexible while the terrorists laugh about what they were able to pull off? |
