I am not one who shows "forgiveness toward Palestinian fascism", nor turn my back "on Israelis and on moderate, freedom-loving Palestinians". It is too early to justify this campaign - we have to stand by, watch, and take time to draw our conclusions rather than rush to snap judgements. If Operation Cast Lead is A) just retaliation, it is disproportionate. Retaliation is just responding to the needs of victims, to the needs of politics, knowing deep down that it will not change anything. If Operation Cast Lead is B) going to change the leadership in Gaza and allow something like normal relations (like Israel has with the West bank leadership) to develop, and allow Sderot and Ashdod to return to normal, then it is justified.
There is no history of Israeli military actions resulting in outcome B). That is why this operation is criticised. |
