| The label racist, heavy with deep cultural connontations, is often used to shut up the Right. This cannard, however, must not be left unchallenged. Jim Crow racism was about taking away people`s rights and discriminating against them because of their biological traits. American blacks were discriminated against because they have different biological traits: napy hair, a different facial structure, thicker lips, etc... Jews, however, are no different than Arabs-- there are many blue eyed, light skinned arabs who look much less "middle eastern" than many dark skinned Jews (not to mention our Ethiopian brothers). In any event, discrimation against Arabs is not because of "race" it is because of their ideology-- no one can deny that the overwhelming majority of Arabs do not support Israel and want the erasure of Israel as a Jewish protective state in the Jewish homeland. If I am willing to hire an Ethiopian Jew but not an Arab that is simply not racism-- it is just good reason. |
