| I hold the utmost respect for Mr. Grossman. However, I must disagree with his assessment for a short term cease fire, what we need is a permanent cease fire and genuine movement towards a peaceful solution to the conflict, not bandaids and more threats. The damage caused by the rockets is exagerated for political reasons. In the past 7 years including the latest offesive, less than 7 Israelis died from this rocket fire. In the first 7 minutes of the offensive more than 300 Palestinians died. Whether the Israeli government likes it or not, Gaza will be at its southern boarder until the second coming of the Messiah. It must make peace with its people. The fury of which the army unleashed on Gaza will only increase the hostility of the population and make accomodation much more difficult if not impossible. It may be already too late. I sure hope not. |
