| Israel has several reasons to attack Hamas and bomb Gaza: 1. Defend themselves, prevent further rocket attacks, and protect Israeli civilians. 2. Prevent future terrorism by Hamas 3. Restore military power (after 2006 defeat in Lebanon). However, none of these goals will be obtained through the current violent attacks. As in 1982, when PLO was not erradicated, also Hamas will sustain, get new supporters, and the recruitement of new, young arabs who are willing to fight for Hamas will undoubtly increase. This is the ultimate recruitement campaign! Its pure stupidity by Isreali leaders, blinded by their own arrogance, who have learned nothing from history, who believe that this time the military aggression will work to restore peace and security in Isreal. When Israel kills more innocent people in one Palestinian family in one day, than Hamas has killed innocent Israelis in several years, there is no reason to expect sympathy and support from the rest of the world. |
