Now is the time to call a halt for a day or two, and to tell Hamas that if they don`t shoot, we won`t either. Then call for negotiaitons to permanantly halt all rocket fire on Israel.
Let us not deceive ourselves as we did in 2006 that we are going to make Hamas disappear. Hamas will be in Gaza and our goal must be to live next to them without them being able to fire rockets at us.
Hamas did not cry "uncle" after the first massive air strikes, and it is not going to do so after a ground operation. They want to kill our soldiers and for their soldiers to be killed. Let`s not play their game. They will be far more stunned by our insistance on peace than our insistance on more war.
Call a halt. If they don`t shoot, we won`t either. If they do, then I have no doubt that the price will be heavy on both sides.
