Israel has set out to cease the agression by the authorities of Gaza, an independent political entity/state for all practical purposes, perpetrated for the past eight consecutive years against the civilian population of the sovreign state of Israel. Israel left every single square centimenter of Gaza as far back as Summer 2005, only to be chased by its authorities with rockets and mortar shells. Itsrael has attempted to come to an accomodation of peaceful co-existence with Gaza based on mutual recognition of right to exist, adherance to signed agreements and the end to all acts of terror and violence, but to no avail. The only alternative left of the nation-state of the Jewish people remained military action against the rulers of Gaza and their armed forces, which is what we presently experience. Indeed, more than 80% of the people hit in Gaza have been uniformed personnel of Gaza`s armed forces! Israel`s targets have never been civilians |
