It is clear that Israel has the military might to do serious damage to Hamas. What is not clear is our ability to win the PR battle. While it is nice to get even tepid support from the White House, Hamas timing is excellent. With the Holiday season and the transition both in Washington and in Israel, it is difficult to sustain any momentum towards a solution.
The only way to defeat Hamas is to destroy it`s war making capability and to replace Hamas with Hope in Gaza. Given that we have generations in Gaza who want us dead, this is a most difficult situation. We need to convince the World that Israel is not going to stop with half-hearted measures |
