Although the air strikes make great news, and I am very glad that the IDF has undertaken them, it is a fact, based on military history, that you cannot achieve victory by air power alone.
You must retake and control the ground. You must establish a buffer zone between Gaza and Israel that will preclude ANY rocket attacks.
You must keep moving the buffer back, as necessary, even to the Egyptian border, until the residents decide enough is enough and throw out Hamas and give their allegiance to Fatah and a two state solution to this seemingly intractable conflict. |
