| While the terrorists came from Pakistan and were most likely Muslims, there is no evidence that has come to light that indicates they were fighting for Islam or claimed to be acting in accordance with its precepts. Furthermore, Mumbai has several other synagogues, attended by local Indian Jews whose community numbers a few thousand, that were not targets of terrorism. What happened to Rabbi and Rebbetzi Holtzberg and the other Chabad House victims was horrible and inexcusable. To attribute it to a war waged by "Islam" (a religion of over a billion adherents) against all Jews is a misreading and distortion of any of the facts that have come to light as of this point. |
