You are quite right, sir. The problem is that the world applies a double standard when it comes to Israel. But all this lead-up has gotten sufficient media attention so that reasonable people (emphasis on "reasonable")such as yourself understand that Israel has endured the unendurable far too long. They offered Hamas and the Palestinians in Gaza absolutely every opportunity to start acting responsibly and with restraint.

Now, the gloves come off, and although there will be no shortage of countries and people that will find a way to fault Israel nonetheless, I am hopeful that most will understand that Israel does have an obligation to protect its citizens from wanton violence and missile attack.

Name one country in the world that would have exhibited a similar restraint to that which Israel has demonstrated? There are none.

Israel has no choice. Perhaps the Hamas leadership mistook restraint for weakness. They are very different things, as Hamas will soon learn.
