Israel should not take over the Gaza Strip. That should be done in time by Egypt, the country that controlled the region until Israel took over control of it in the defensive Six-Day War, 1967. Egypt should then incorporate the Gaza Strip and together with other Arab states and the international community begin to turn the place together with the northern Sinai into a successful economic undertaking.
At this point Israel must demand that its borders are respected, that its sovreignity is recognized and that its citizens and soldiers are not harmed.
And if they are, Israel must ally punishment to the Gaza Strip, its armed forces and its leaders. |
