| Thanks to Olmert the Golan is at least 60% in his han ds already his problem now is that Olmerts a lame duck who will be gone in 6 weeks and any agreement they may reach the next government doesnt have to stick by it & 6 weeks isnt enough time anyway. Bush is no fan of Assads but he rightly believes Obama wants to be his friend and will put the preasure onto Israel Bush also has only 3 weeks left so he is a lame duck as well. Assad has made his position very clear now and told us all he wants to talk because of Olmert and now he is going to play hard to get in the hope that Obama will take his side, hopefully get Livni in Israel but if he gets Bibi then he hopes Obama will put the squeeze on him. Bibi has already foolsihly said he will continue talking with Assad. We could have argued Olmert had no mandate to do deals like this but can we say the same to a newly elected government? Assasd is actaly playing a very clever game. |
