He`s just another conman - though a supersuccessful one. My sympathies to all who were caught. Your neighbour had the satisfaction of knowing that she was doing the right thing, being a decent human being. I don`t believe that as a single example Madoff alters people`s attitudes. Antisemites who believe that all Jews are bad of course accept this as another proof, but deep down they believed it anyway: nothing`s changed. These are the same people who still say that Rupert Murdoch was a Jew because to them Jews are evil.
