| The question is not if but when to invade Gaza. If Israel invades and installs Fatah in place of Hamas, and then the Palestinians hold free elections, Hamas might well win. The situation would be worse than it is now. If the Palestinians hold elections, and Hamas wins an obviously rigged election, the situation would be much more favorable to an invasion. If Hamas loses an election but refuses to give up power, a regime change by force would probably be much better supported by Palestinians and International opinion. |
