| This is a low point for Judaism and Jewish Culture. I have a neighbor who raised money for Haddassah by selling cookies and holding luncheons over the course of 40 years. She now feels that her life work was stolen away. Her mother, a haulocaust surviver, used to say that based upon what happened to them in Germany, that only person that you could trust with your life was a fellow Jew. My neighbor now says that life has come full-circle and the people that you truly can`t trust (at least financially) is a fellow Jew. What a catastrophe for the Jewish People. These anti-semitic web sites, unfortunately, would have to be saints to not jump all over this self created disgrace. The damage done by Madoff is far greater than anyone can imagine - it truly ends the feeling of cohesiveness and shared survival within Judaism. Israel might as well hit Iran now because everything else is lost - do the world a favor. |
