The main difference to a Somali scenario is that Gaza is surrounded by two powerful States. Both Egypt and Israel have shown that they have no intention of buckling to the demands of Hamas. The only real scenario will be of extreme hunger, no electricity or potable water. That in turn will either force Hamas into another truce or worst of all into war. I wonder whether Egypt will also be targeted due to their intransigence vis a vis the Rafah Crossing. |
