| Yesterday you were saying it`s all the Arabs fault. Today you`re blaming the Brits and bringing God into it. I said in post 20 that the Arabs made lots of mistakes and the Brits made HUGE mistakes in Palestine. However, you wouldn`t have a Jewish state if the Brits hadn`t kicked the Turks out, so you need to respect that as well. The thing that puzzles me, though, as with so many pro-Israel people posting here, is why you can`t accept that the Jews of mandate Palestine were not totally innocent either in all this mess. The process of Zionism, concentrating Jewish immigration into Palestine wih the stated aim of establishing a Jewish homeland was ALWAYS going to cause trouble. Despite a small Jewish presence and Turkish rulers, Palestine had been part of the Arab world a thousand years. Suddenly European Jews start arriving wanting a specifically Jewish homeland. It`s like returning Pals now wanting to set up an Arab homeland in Jaffa. You`d be happy with that? |
