For those of us who keep referring to "greed", please stop. The investors who lost all their money were not "greedy" for putting their money in what seemed like the most trustworthy and stable of investments. Keep in mind that the stock market on average over time, does earn 10%, and that Madoff was only providing gains of 10% when the rest of the market was up at like 50%.
Also keep in mind that alot of these people were very wealthy because they built a business out of hard work. They employed many people and gave them livelihoods. And they gave a ton of tzedukah. So stop it with the so called "greed". It`s nothing short of taking pleasure from other Jew`s misfortune. Schadenfreude. This is a time where we must come together as a community, because make no doubt - we have been impacted as a community. |
