The first legal responsibility of government is the protection of its citizens, Israel must make this the prime legal priority. The residents for Gaza voted for a government that supports terror and war. They are not hostages of anyone. Its there will and policy. And if it takes civilian loss to insure the protection of Israel so be it. It was those civilians who supported a Hamas government.
Finally if this is your policy why make it public giving Hamas a great pr chance and the ability to plan their response according to the "legal opinion" of this Chacham.
This is political correctness gone crazy.
Ben Gurion would have sent this lawyer to farm in the negev, doing some good for the country. Maybe he should move to Shederot and write his opinions there and share them with the residents. |
