| While the effect of the Madoff swindle on charities is certainly serious, we cannot forget those of more modest means who have been grievously harmed. Not everyone belonged to the Palm Beach Country Club or funded charities. There are many who have lost everything that they worked for and saved during a working life. There are those who must sell their homes to have money to eat. The question for Madoff is, "Does he hate being Jewish?" and "Does he hate Jews?" |
