| Maimonides in Mishneh Torah, Hilchos Teshuvah chapter 3 defines a moser or informer as follows: `one who turns over a fellow Jew into the power of pagans to kill him or beat him; and one who turns over the property of a fellow Jew into the hands of a violent man, who is like a pagan`. Collecting unpaid bills among Jews doesn`t appear to fit either definition. Handing Jews over to the Nazis or the Spanish Inquisition would appear tro fit the bill. |
