Hadassa Ben-Itto feels shame, and when people feel shame usually it means that the found a dissonance with reality.
I recognize this shame as Israeli, when we live in Israel we need to keep the tension between our Ethno-centric Judaism and human-centric values. and I am sad to see retired judge and honorary president of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists.sociation of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists blind to the reality and fixated in "us vs. them".
1) We know who teach "them" we are calling the government to change, the government change it practices and the Jewish Judge release the person who assaulted Palestinian for procedural reasons.
2) We are shamelessly say to people "that we will never abandon memory - even if it seems that the world seeks to forget" as if Germans, Palestinians and others seek to forget ... I wonder who she think we are, why a non Jew will think differently for WW-II genocide is a lesson only the Jews need to teach the others? |
