Iran is a huge market for Russia when it comes to military equipment and otherwise. Israel does not have enough leverage to chance the Russian position much.
The same is not true about Syria. Syria is not as large as Iran and with Israel?s higher economic development and with the large amount of trade and personal travel between the two nations (Russia ranks #1 in tourists from Europe to Israel) this equates into a significant amount of clout, it might be enough to keep Russia from giving its best or good weapons to Syria, and conversely to Hezbollah. |
