| Israel is not on the same level of evil as the Nazis were. It is not an issue to be taken seriously. Having said that, Israel and Israelis seem over sensitive to the attempt at comparisons. Why is this? An attempt to compare Israels actions with Nazi actions will stand on its own or it will not. There is no need to provide a diplomatic or editorial subtext in order to channel peoples thinking on the matter. It is Israels sensitivity to this issue which gives it credibility. One thing is sure. There are valid comparisons that can be drawn between Israels actions and the early actions of the Nazi party, before the Nazis indulged themselves in mass murder. Perhaps it is this point which motivates Israels sensitivity. |
