Because no one in Israel wants to hear it.
A two state solution was never within the realm of possibility with a Kadima led government and as it will be replaced by a Likud government overtly opposed to any two state solution the comment is meaningless in the Israeli context.
Gates was telling the Arabs what they wanted to hear. |
