Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondent: UN set to adopt resolution urging Israel, Palestinians to continue talks

Title:The Proposed Resolution Sounds Predictably Vague To Me

Other than "calling on" Israel and the PA (without their consent) to continue their bilateral peace negotiations for another year after the Annapolis deadline expires, this proposed resolution doesn`t say anything new. I suppose that it will be passed unanimously under Chapter 6 (binding but unenforceable)unless Libya tries to insert language about the Israeli settlements which is incompatable with that contained in the Road Map. The draft is sufficiently vague and its points have been agreed to by both Israel and the PA previously in principle so that everybody in the Security Council can vote for it with impunity.

Just two questions: 1) What happens if the PA becomes a dictatorship under Abbas and not a democracy? And 2) What about Hamastan which is not under PA control?
