Only 40%? That is a disaster. Cutting off supplies to the bare essentials level. The refusal to allow medicine and food into Gaza, much less consumer goods, has only driven 40% of Gazans to wish to leave their homes?
What a disaster! If cutting off fuel to the extent that the lights are off often, and there is not enough fuel to cook food, does not drive EVERYONE to leave, what a failure the blockade has been.
What is wrong with those Palestinians in Gaza that they will not leave their miserable existence and immigrate?
Ok, so most of them have nowhere to go, but aside from that, why do only 40% want to go?
What hope does the dream of the Israeli right - the dream that somehow the Palestinians will simply disappear - have?
None.
The idea that if life is simply made too horrible to endure, the Palestinians will simply disappear is a fantasy.
Real people do not work that way.
Did the pogroms of 1920-21 drive out the Jews? What about 1929?
Has the Israeli right learned nothing? |
