In 2003 I was called back to active duty at age 55, and held to 60. My military resume is at http://arkcode.com/custom3_1.html. When they contacted me, the 1st question they asked was, "Are you willing to go anywhere?" I had a nice family and a good safe teaching job, but said, "Yes." Fortunately, they sent me to a relative paradise in California. In 1992 I went to Israel on an A-1 visa, but I did NOT take dual citizenship because it would have screwed up my security clearance (and retirement). I did my reserve drills at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. If you joined in 1976, 32 years ago, you certainly should have 20 good years and enough points to retire (when 60) by now. My advice? Do not disgrace our people. Serve honorably; or, if you have enough points, go into Ret-2 retirement status - retired, awaiting pay at age 60.
