You use the term "War Crime" very loosely. I won`t launch into a diatribe about it, considering this IS Haaretz Talkback, and the only comments I figure this would receive are foaming-at-the-mouth crazies who say "No such thing as Palestinians" etc. etc.
I would only like to add is that these are people. Not animals. People. Regardless of what you say about the equating of Israeli prisons and Gilad Shalit`s imprisonment, it is a HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUE. This is not a matter of "We are going to restrict THEIR human rights because they restrict Gilad`s." Israel is a first world democracy. Perhaps you shouldn`t hold it to the standards of a marginalized political/militant group, lest the valor of Israel (which in your mind seems high and mighty) be questioned. |
