This is a classic case of disinformation, using the slur of antisemitism to deflect from what is really happening in the Occupied Territories. The Church of England and the Archbishop of Canterbury had nothing to do with the carol concert. St.Jame`s Church in Picadilly is used for all sorts of musical events, and this was just one of them. It used an imaginative, witty and sardonic version of the traditional carols (written by Jewish peace groups) to reflect what was actually happening in Bethlehem (with the strangulating Wall) and in the Occupied Territories, where indeed there are daily incursions, assassinations, bulldozers causing house demolitions, air strikes, falling bombs, and uprooting of olive trees.
In fact the Church has been particularly reticent in criticizing Israel due such exaggerated attacks by Prosor , and Israel should start reflecting on the war crimes carried out by the IDF (as documented by B`Tselem, ACRI, Peace Now, Gush Shalom and ICAHD) and get them to stop. |
