| There are those who believe religion is the paramount source of conflict. And there are those like this Nobel Prize Winner who believe it can contribute to conflict resolution. The point in the Middle East is that without getting religion on board with resolving the conflict, religion will definitely be a major obstacle. One cannot get people trapped in inferiority/superiority quagmires to stop their tantrums unless they feel the respect of others. How can this be done with Muslims without putting their religiosity front and center? Jews must try to stop their more than 2000 year old civil war between the pious and their Hellenized opponents, where for the predominant Jewish leadership religiosity is the problem. Make sure Jewish religious leadership is involved in resolving this conflict! |
