| Don`t assume Israel has weakened across the board. There are many sectors to education, and they must be looked at separately. If some haredi schools don`t teach core subjects you can`t expect them to do well in examinations. Some years back Yated ran a non-sequitor article saying it was proud that haredi schools did not do the core curriculum and later went on to say that haredi schools got better results on core subjects than other schools. You really can`t have it both ways! The decline seems to have followed on from replacing responsibilities with children`s `rights`. |
