However, if I were to play the Devil`s advocate, I should like to say one thing in the way of criticism: Someone has to do the West`s dirty work - in this case invading Iraq to secure the West`s future oil resources (even if China gets the contracts, it`s still using the oil to produce for the West) and fabricating an ethically acceptable reason for doing so. If not for the Republicans, it would be hard for the Democratic Party, and therefore the U.S., to maintain the moral record that allows it to play the self-righteous role of the world`s white knight. |
