| You have to understand that many Shas supporters come from Arab countries where attitudes and priorities differ from those of Western European Jews. You also have to understand the potential damage Shas could do with the education portfolio! An agreed core curriculum is what unites people into one nation. Torah is of course one component, but all children should have a basic knowledge of maths, language, science, technology within a framework of Torah values. |
